Built under Emperor Franz Joseph as a Technical Military Academy.

In the ceremonial hall of the school is the honorary plaque with the names of the distinguished graduates of the Genius and Artillery Department of the Technical Military Academy, from 1717 to 1918, who were awarded the Military Order of Maria Theresa.
